Big News

Because it’s been such a long time since I posted, I was originally going to write it as a “catching up” post.  The only thing is that I have some news that I wanted to share, and I decided that it deserves its own post.  The last time I wrote was about my fabulous guy, so I thought that it would be appropriate for this to be the next one.

Chris proposed the night before thanksgiving, and now I get to keep this awesome piece of jewelry FOREVER!  Him too – I also get to keep him :) .  We are both really excited and looking forward to everything.  Our lives have been somewhat chaotic lately, so we haven’t exactly made any plans yet, but we’ll probably start on that once the holidays.  We’ll probably be tapping into some of those awesome planning skills that my mom and a few of those bridesmaids seem to have (ahem…you know who you are) shortly after the holidays.

Anyway, that’s all for now.  My semester will be over as soon as I stop avoiding this project.  After that, I plan to write a bit more.

My Fabulous Guy

very frighteningOkay, I don’t think that I’m one to gush, but I’ve decided to make an exception.  It’s time for all of you to know that I have one seriously fabulous guy.

Aside from being one of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met, he’s also quite patient and understanding.  For example, I change clothes three times (on average) before we go out.  Most of the time, the third change is back to the original outfit.  Does he complain?  Nope.  He just says, “Baby, you’re beautiful.  Wear whatever makes you feel good.”  I’m sure that there are times when he just wants to freak out and tell me to hurry up, but it hasn’t happened yet.

More importantly than helping me sort through my clothing/self-image issues, Chris is always incredibly supportive when it comes to the things that I really want and he provides great “relationship back-up” when there is something that I feel very strongly about.

In short, he’s impressive, and it is great.  This is the probably the first time I’ve ever felt like I wasn’t out there on my own; I actually have someone who is on my side, if for no other reason than just to be on my side :) .

Did I mention that he’s super fun too??

Introductions

Hi there!  Well, I’ve just moved to town from Yahoo! 360 and I’m looking forward to marveling you all with my fantastic tales.

Or not… my life is a little on the average side, but I still like to talk about it.

I decided that my first blog entry should be a brief introduction so you all will know a tiny bit about me before I start writing.  The tagline at the top of my page describes me in a nutshell, but I thought I’d also include a short list of miscellaneous things about me.

  1. I love to eat.
  2. I’m no fitness freak, but I try to workout regularly (because of love #1).
  3. I love tennis, softball, volleyball, biking, and swimming but am not all that great at any of them.
  4. I have studied Spanish for 15 years.
  5. I love wine and martinis but can barely drink one glass of either.

I haven’t quite defined what my entries will be about and even if I did come up with a theme of some sort, I wouldn’t stick to it.  What I probably won’t write about is children (I have none), my husband (I don’t have one of those either), or my house (I also don’t have one of those).

Everything else is fair game :) .
